Jennifer Jensen Wallach is an associate professor of history at the University of North Texas. She is the author of Closer to the Truth than Any Fact: Memoir, Memory, and Jim Crow (2008), Richard Wright: From Black Boy to World Citizen (2010), and How America Eats: A Social History of U.S. Food and Culture (2013). She is the editor of Dethroning the Deceitful Pork Chop: Rethinking African American Foodways from Slavery to Obama (2015) and the coeditor of Arsnick: The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in Arkansas (2011), American Appetites: A Documentary Reader (2014), and The Routledge History of American Foodways (2016).   Along with Michael D. Wise, Wallach coedits the University of Arkansas Press book series Food and Foodways. She is also the 20/21st century North America editor for the History Compass.
